Balance training:(Make sure the walker is around them and keep an arm behind their back)
Balance: One leg stands, On one leg move the other leg (make sure knee is not bent) forward, backwards, and to the side, Balance board/ blue balance tool, Have the patient step up on one leg on the half ball, Standing on the tip of their toes | ![]() |
Advanced training:
(With the patient holding on to you) Walk by placing one foot directly in front of the other/ With the patent facing you have them move by crossing their leg in front of other then cross their leg behind the other leg and repeat. (Samba)
With the patient on one leg throw a small ball at them and have them catch it.
Legs(All of these are done while sitting)
With one leg one the big ball with their toes pointed back at them, have them push down on the ball with only their leg, Put a small ball in between their knees and then squeeze the ball with knees, With the patient’s knees together put the theraband around the outside of both their legs, then have them bring their knees apart, Put the theraband around the patient’s ankle then have them make their leg straight, have them bend their knee so that the theraband gives the resistance as they bend their knee.
